About the Author-Lydia Li

Hi everyone, my name is Lydia, I am a 14 years old girl that is a current 8th grader. I have been going to Alvarado intermediate school for two years. In this project, I have interviewed my aunt, Lan. I have always wanted to learn international trade and economics, and I wants to attend a job that is related. I have worked hard and I wants to attend University of Pennsylvania because they have a great international trade and economics department. I have attended school orchestra and honor orchestra as a cello player. I have been playing cello for two years and I have learned a lot in school.

This project have helped my understanding by the stories that the people have been telling. Storytelling can help create more understanding around immigration due to the personal experience that the storyteller share with us. Many people could have been thinking immigration is a bad thing and have some negative thought on the immigrants, but after hearing the stories about the immigrants, and what they have been through, many people might change their thoughts on the immigrants. Many people have misunderstand the immigrants by the negative comments they see online, or on social media. After hearing the actual story that the immigrants have, many people could have change their mind and their thoughts on the immigrants. More people could get to know their story and began to understand and stop saying negative comments that they see from social media or their surroundings. I have been practicing my researching skill by researching and finding the website that have the right information to use. I have improved my social skill by interviewed someone the first time in my life. The interview part was fun and new to me, I have never interviewed someone including my family members. Interview my family member have give me chance to know my family better and understand them more. I learned how my aunt have migrated from China to U.S., and I knew more about her experiences.

About the Author-Steve Zang

Hello my name is Steve, I'm 14 years old, I'm in the school which call Alvarado intermediate school, they said that they are the best middle school in the world. My mom wants me to go to university like UCLA, but my goal is to go to university like cal state long beach. My mom, she wants to be a nurse, even she is already 40, she think she is still young, she had a chance. So now she is working hard on learning things about nursing and cares. Before she come here she was busy, after she come here she is still busy, my dad is the one that take care of me the most, but our relationship is still bad.

It help me to answer because, actually I don't know what does immigration shaped America, now I know, it would make America had a lot of different race, which different race would had different kind of "genius". Yes it's important because if is the person told the story, they could get more sympathy, if they use podcast if they can say in front of others then that means they don't care much about it. Information I learned... em... maybe that most immigrants come to America for good reason like study, escape from war, ect. The researching link and information is mostly done by me and writing part, after I write my partner will revise with me. On partner work we did good, we were pretty tacit understanding, just on the picture part not that tacit understanding

The things I learned was that maybe I should be open-hearted to my dad, because, most things I never told my dad. And talk more with him even I don't like him, the reason that I don't like him/ talk to him is because he is too irritability. And being ownership, because most of the time after I eat I don't wash the dishes. Too lazy not taking the work.
